Today, I watched the boys go down 10-1 to the Merahans. Most people will only see the scoreline and think that our boys must have had a lousy game. But what they do not see, is how hard our boys played, especially in the first period, and a big part of the third period.
I can safely say how proud I am of you, for playing so hard, and holding off the defending finalist with so much heart for a good 1/3 of the first period, and of course, to score the opening goal of the game. What I saw, was the hunger for the ball, the hunger for success, the SGS fighting spirit we've been talking about. But this hunger, it went missing for almost the whole of the 2nd period. And thankfully, it was revived a little in the third period.
1st period: 4-1 (0-1 to SGS at 5mins)
2nd period: 10-1
3rd Period: 10-1
For the girls, congrats on your win. I was not there, but I heard about the scoreline:
2nd period: 8-1
3rd period: 9-6
What does this show? Complacency? Lack of fitness? or "bad luck"?
What if the period was not 15 mins but 25 mins? would the game have been a draw, or a loss instead? Since HIH's scoring on average a goal every 3 mins? These questions, I ask you to consider.
Our boys showed us that it is possible to score against the Merahans, even if we are not a seeded team. And on the flip side, our girls has shown what can happened the moment we let our guards down.
I hope that all of you realised that in sports, there sometimes just isn't a second chance. You either grab every opportunity you have, or you might lose it forever. There's no room for a sec of lapse in concentration, or loss of desire. The only way we can achieve our dreams, is to keep the fire in us burning bright, ALL the time. No complacency, no giving up, no excuses.
Just one more game in the prelim round, we know we can do it. The question is, do we want it enough? Not for 5 mins, not for 1 period, not for 2 periods, but for ALL 3 periods.
So, what do you want?

Unacceptable reasons will be posted on the blog.
For example, our beloved sarita can actually FORGET to bring her goalie helmet during the faceoff tournament.

Hey there Girls n Boys,
We all have had our first game on thursday. Well as for the girls we had a good game but still there should be improvements here n there like what we talked during our debrief. Good, and i am proud that we worked together as a team and achieved this win together. This is exactly how we should work together and motivate everyone for every match.
As for the Guys, though you'll drew, i think you'll had a very good game. Also use Li Yang's last few seconds goal for an example to note that we should fight very hard till the very last second to win. It may be said as "tyco" or what so ever but a goal is a goal which makes a lot of difference right. I hoped you'll also worked together as a team yea!

So, its same for every match. After every match, take a few mins be it whether you are eating or bathing to reflect on your performance for that match. Then, you think or ask youself how can you improve on your weakness and develop your strengths. Thus, when you go for your next match, remember your thoughts and play. Trust me, if you sincerely think, you will definitely see the difference!
Strive for the best....
All the best for the next game. Train hard, play hard but do not injure yourselves. Do take care of yourselves.

Congrats the girls for getting 2ND in the ''FACEOFF'' tournament held at Springfield. The defense was amazing. Every single one of you played your very best. However, there are still things to take note about. Go back and think about the 3 sets of games we had just now. Reflect on what you can/should do during the game. Whats your weakness, strength and how can you improve on it.
Girls and boys, the B division is starting on next friday. Please be prepared. Make sure you gotten both your RED and BLUE jerseys from Miss tan.
Apart from that, we will be having training on monday (Girls) and tuesday (Boys). For more details, please refer to the calendar below.
